Good-byes

I've never been a fan of saying good-bye to people. In fact, I absolutely hate it. I always cry. This past weekend I spent in San Diego saying bye to a particularly fantastic friend of mine who has now deployed to Afghanistan more than his share of times.

I know that I have written before about heroes before but Sgt. Stephen C. Anderson of the United States Marine Corps is a true American hero. He is brave and bold and has seen things in his 23 years that no one should ever have to witness. He has been shot at an blown up and holds a well deserved Purple Heart. He won't be returning home until May 2011 which means that this year, once again, he will be missing Christmas and the entire holiday season. I ask that anyone reading this says a pray for him, the men in his unit, and the entire Anderson family.
