Sounds Like Life to Me
Sometimes in life things don't go exactly how you want them to. Anything from not getting the job to missing the bus can see like such a significant thing when you are only focused on you. And then, there are those times in life when something happens and you have to take at least one HUGE step backwards and evaluate your life from a 3rd party perspective. This is what it takes to realize how great you actually have it. So... today's advice is: Don't sweat the small stuff and sniff that rose.

New Name

I know that some of you may be wondering about the new name...
After the few months that I have been blogging, as much as I love the name that I chose because all 3 of those things are so important to me, I realized that it was misleading. The blog is not about nomz, deets, or peaches. The blog is about my life and the world I live in and my take on things. Hence, the new name, As I Know It. As in "this the world as I know it".
So far the new name is working just about as well as my cardio yesterday (which was great, BTW!) We'll see if I have another identity crisis and change it again...

Let's Get Physical

"I wanna get physical, physical..." I finally did, I bit the bullet and joined a gym. I was probably helpful that I went with the boyfriend and he joined too. I'm excited but wary. It's always fun to do something new but that can fade out pretty quickly; however, I have convinced myself that this time it will different. And it will be because I know I need to get healthy. This is not to say that I believe I'm overweight or fat (mirrors can be deceiving) but I want to have a good life not only for me but one day when I have children I would like to be a good example for them.
I'll keep you all updated on how the new lifestyle goes...

Let Us Pray

Today is a day in which the world needs more prayer than ever. More specifically there is a little girl who needs it. Her name is Daisy and she's 6 years old and has cancer. She is the pastor's daughter at the church where my dear friends, Julie and Yuri, attend. Daisy was looking towards remission a few months ago but has since relapsed and is currently in surgery to biopsy a new tumor in her tiny little body.
So, please, take time today to pray for this beautiful little girl.
The family's blog link is below if you would like to read their story...

Miss Manners

I would like to consider myself a "people person". I can easily be related to by others, I'm generally nice, and I would like to consider myself at least a little humorous. BUT! There is one thing I absolutely cannot stand about some people. And that one little, seemingly insignificant thing is: bad manners.
I grew up with a father that instilled the most impeccable manners in me since the small ripe age of probably 3. This being said, I am now what can only be describe as a "Nazi", of manners. This includes but is not limited too: table manners, social manner (aka social graces), and gender manners/traditional roles. It makes my skin crawl to know or witness people breaking these rules as because I am a big rules girl.
Like today, at work, I'm sitting here minding my own business when my little bubble starts to crumble around me. It starts with what I can only assume is an animal crunching on bones in the cube behind me. "SMOOSH! CRACK! SNAP!" WTF is that?!?!? I honestly thought it was the mouse that has been hiding in my drawer coming back to haunt me. But alas, it's just my disgusting neighbor crunching on some like pretzels, with his mouth open - BLECK! And as if that's not enough it continues with a symphony of mouth noises from the old - and I mean OLD like should have retired years ago to the point in which she is incompetent at her job - lady sitting across from me. And her noises run rampant throughout the day. In fact they last all day everyday. I've never seen anyone's mouth move so much and with such vigor when nothing is going in or coming out. And all I can ask myself is: WHAT IS THIS?! Just when I think this is enough I am bombarded by the sickly quarantine that we are apparently having here with coughing, hacking, sniffing, snorting, gagging, etc. It's just absolutely disgusting and mind-boggling on how people can be so inconsiderate.
So, the moral of the story is this: If we ever eat a meal together, do your mama proud and remember your manners!

Sniffles...
Honestly, I feel like it's just my luck to get a head cold in the summer especially when it's so nice outside. I kid you not, it's 75+ degrees and sunny and beautiful and I want to be outside this weekend soaking in the sunlight, not hiding inside like a mole. To be completely honest, I don't even mind having a cold in the winter. It's not that I like having a cold, it's just that if I had to pick a time to have one, this would not be that time. In winter you expect to get sick at least once, but not now!!! And what makes matter worse is that I didn't even get sick last winter!!!
I do feel like I've been doing a lot of complaining recently but this is my space (only a small pun intended) to do so. Anyway... I'm sick and it sucks and I'm happy that the weekend is coming in 3 hours and I can go home, close all the blinds, and snuggle in the for the next couple days. I never thought I would love 2 days (a.k.a. weekends) off so much but I do... Life is good here in Corporate America!
